Varnishing Day was a a whole new experience for me, but great to meet the other exhibiting artists, drink a little bubbly and get a first view of The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. It looks great, very vibrant and varied, but altogether too much to take in in just two hours.

My work was selected by Sikelela Owen RA, whose selection focuses on themes of childhood and family. I love how her selection is curated and was delighted to see my work hanging alongside some amazing work by other artists, and the cherry on the cake was hearing my work had sold before the exhibition opened to the public. I’m very glad someone will get pleasure from it in its new home once the Summer Exhibition ends.

The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition runs from 17 June – 17 August 2025 in London and online.

Moira O'Fee, ‘Play’, oil on canvas laid on board, 73x43, 2024

I’m excited that ‘Play’ has been preselected for the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition in London. The painting is framed and ready to be sent off, fingers and toes crossed that it makes it to the final hang.

The exhibition theme this year is ‘Dialogues’, it’s coordinated by Farshid Moussavi and it runs from 17th June -17th August.

136th Paisley Art Institution Annual Exhibition, The Glasgow Art Club

La Niña
Urban Canalside
I painted ‘La Niña’ as part of a triptych originally. Although I loved this as a threesome, I favoured one painting in particular which has now been selected for this exhibition along with my landscape painting ‘Urban Canalside’. I’m delighted both are being exhibited at The Glasgow Art Club from 28th April until 31st May 2025. And even more delighted that ‘La Niña’ has won The Karl Stern Creative Figurative Award.
